End date: 14th October 2017

Time: 9.00 - 17.00

National Information Security Conference Glasgow 2017 125x125 - Events

Now in its 18th year, the National Information Security Conference (NISC) provides insight into the most up-to-date cybersecurity trends, risks and defence strategies.

Cybersecurity no longer falls under the remit of the IT Manager. High profile security breaches such as Talk-Talk and Tesco have highlighted the impact an attack can have on your business.

The key to an effective defence strategy is to build a solid framework and strengthen your existing security practices. This can often be achieved by ensuring that security protocols are communicated clearly and delivered effectively.

NISC

NISC is a highly focused cybersecurity event designed to encourage peer-to-peer collaboration and thought-leading discussions in a relaxed but professional environment. It provides the proven practices and strategies needed by any cybersecurity professional to protect their enterprise.

Having carried out a survey of information security professionals from across the UK, NISC 2017 will address the areas cited as of ‘most concern’ in 2016. This will range from issues surrounding malware and cloud security to the challenges of managing insider threats, a lack of visibility of meaningful security information, as well as compliance.

Location: Helix, DCU, Dublin

ICTTF20171 - Events

Now in its seventh year, this year’s Cyber Threat Summit will have a very European focus. The largest event of its kind, it will attract cyber security experts from all over Europe to discuss all aspects of cyber security including issues such as GDPR, the NIS Directive and of course BREXIT.

They have three streams running concurrently; Strategic, Operational and Technical. Women in Cyber, the Safety of Children, the Cyber Skills Gap and Ireland’s opportunity with Cyber security are among the topics being debated.

About CTS

“Cyber threats come in many forms depending on their target and objective. Targets can include children, individuals, small to medium businesses, large enterrprises, government bodies and even the critical national infrastructure of countries. The landscape of geopolitically cyber motivated attacks, BREXIT, new EU Cyber legislation adds to the complexity of this challenge. The Cyber Security Task Force therefore believes that a new cyber security ecosystem involving government and the private sector has to evolve to provide support right across our economy. Our mission with this year’s Cyber Threat Summit is to help develop that new cyber security ecosystem.”

“The bad guys are well networked, they support each other with training, intelligence sharing and a marketplace of underground criminals that have developed an ecosystem resulting in an underground economy valued at over one trillion dollars. It has surpassed drug trafficking as a crime. The ICTTF cyber security community is the antithesis of the criminal networks and recognises with it’s slogan – It Takes a Network to Defeat a Network.”

Paul C Dwyer
President
ICTTF

2017 will also see the introduction of a Cyber Startup Zone where you can come and meet the Corrata team and get a demonstration of our latest mobile threat defense product for Android and IOS. Arrange an appointment with a member of the team at info@corrata.com
